He used to drink it constantly. Delivered by the milkman, thumb through the foil cap, straight down. Cowley used to blether on about infants and nursery food; Ray used to say milkmen were a security risk.

A security risk? Christ!

Bodie stares down at the floor of Ray’s flat as the ambulancemen load his partner onto a stretcher, down at the two smashed milk bottles, their contents spilling whitely over Ray’s cream carpet, blending with the dark red of Ray’s blood.

The Masai used to drink a mixture of blood and milk, he remembers, and, half-hysterical, starts to laugh.

This is a good solid drabble - which is a form I love. Small technical grammar point - 'starts' would be better - if I'm not being cheeky :-)

You can feel the emotion in this - you've said so much with just 100 words. Well done.

The man really does raise brooding to a fine art. Just like Doyle is a Master of The Pose.

*heart squeezes* And after just 100 words too. I didn't think I'd be a fan of drabbles, but you're changing my mind!
