Drabbles: Early Days, Communication, Calling It Quits

The first of my [info]fanfic100 stories.

The Generic Headers:
Author: P.R. Zed
Hatstand/Circuit Archive/Proslib: Yes
Disclaimer: Someone else owns Bodie & Doyle; I just use them for my own nefarious purposes.
Format: Drabbles

Title: Early Days
Prompt: 001 Beginnings
Summary: When does attraction begin?

Afterward, he wondered when it had begun.

Was it on their first assignment, when they'd discovered just how well their skills had meshed together?

Was it the first time Bodie had saved him, appearing from nowhere to keep a bullet from taking his life?

Was it the first time an op had gone horribly wrong and they'd shared their drunken disappointment at the injustice of the world?

Was it the first time those surprisingly soft, pouting lips had touched his?

Or perhaps it had always been there, from the moment he had first seen proud blue eyes in Cowley's office.

Title: Communication
Prompt: 002 Middles
Summary: Communication is about more than words

When the suspect tried to scarper, all Doyle had to do was grin at Bodie and they both knew. Knew how to dodge, how to move, how to run the bloke to ground.

The stupid bastard never had a chance.

It was like that between them now. They acted as one, whether they were performing their music hall double act in front of Cowley and the lads or bringing some geezer to heel in interrogation.

It was especially like that in bed, where they communicated skin to skin, no words needed words to convey desire or craving, lust or love.

Title: Calling It Quits
Prompt: 003 Ends
Summary: How long is too long?

If there was one thing that CI5 agents did well, it was organizing a damn fine piss up. This particular piss up was in honour of Murphy, who tomorrow was walking down the aisle and this afternoon had handed in his gun and ID for the last time.

Lifting a pint, Doyle looked across the room at Bodie, unerringly finding him even in this throng. Bodie's blue eyes held the knowledge that Doyle knew lay within his own as well. Soon enough, it would be them leaving the squad, making their own end before a bullet did it for them.

Nice set. Like a outline sketch of the boys' relationship. I especially like the last one, but then the idea of them getting out before either gets killed is always good.

Definitely. I was so not going to take that prompt in any more permanent direction.

I especially liked this line, but there was something special in each drabble. Great use of the prompts. Very IC.

Nice to hear you thought they were all IC. And that you liked one of my fave lines. (Is it bad to have a fave line in your own stories? *g*)

No, it's not, if it's as good as that!;-) And it has to be my fave line, too.*g*

It's great to see you're doing the fanfic100 thing! There's never enough B/D around and your characterization is spot-on every time.
